Cotton seed: Proteins and energy for the best dairy cows
Sevecom introduced it, first, as a fundamental food for the best dairy cows nearly 30 years ago.
Cotton seeds are derived from the collection and processing of the cotton fibers for the textile industry.
They have the shape and size of a grain of wheat or paddy rice, and are covered with a sturdy but thin blackish shell, covered with dense hair (white and delicate) residual of the cotton fibers.
The use of cotton seed in the diet of dairy cows, started by California farmers a few decades ago, has spread rapidly in the United States, in Israel and now in Europe.
Even the experimental research conducted by many scientific institutions around the world have confirmed that the inclusion of cotton seed in the diet of dairy cows at a dose of 2-3 kg per animal and per day stimulates milk production and raises and increases butyric content, improving the digestion of the whole ration.
